What are Wellington uPVC windows?
UPVC, (unplasticized polyvinyl chloride) windows are made from a plastic that is rigid and durable, making it a popular material for window frames. These windows feature multi-chambered profiles that provide excellent thermal and sound insulation.

Why Choose Wellington uPVC Windows?
UPVC is durable and energy efficient with outstanding thermal insulation, noise reduction and security. uPVC doesn’t warp, discolour from the sunlight, the frames are low maintenance and don’t require painting. The special formula of uPVC is UV resistant. Colours used are superior grades of 4 layers of vinyl coating to make it strong and UV resistant.

Window Opening Types
Tilt

The window tilts inwards into the room, remaining fixed at the base.
Turn

The window swings open like a door.
Fixed

The window is set in a closed position. It can not be opened.
Tilt & Turn

The window can either swing open like a door or tilt inwards for ventilation.
45 Degree Turn of Handle

A 45 degree turn of the handle gives micro ventilation

Why windows matter
Why does the spacer thickness matter?
The thickness of the spacer directly impacts the window’s ability to insulate against heat transfer. A properly sized spacer helps maximise the insulating properties by optimising the gas layers’ effectiveness in reducing conduction and convection.
Adequate spacing helps maintain a warmer interior glass, reducing the risk of condensation forming on the inside.
A thicker spacer enhances the soundproofing capabilities of the window by increasing the distance between the glass panes. – larger gaps are better at dampening sound vibrations.
Enjoy a quieter home
The multi-chambered design and tight seals provide excellent soundproofing, reducing noise pollution

Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to request a quote.
Contact UsQ. Can I install uPVC into existing frames?
Yes, get in contact with us to discuss your options.
Q. Why don’t you offer the 70mm Kommerling windows?
Smaller profiles like 70mm are too small to fit triple-glazing units. Smaller frame limits sizes of opening sashes and doors.
Q. I’m not sure which option to choose for my home
Give us a call or reach out, whether you’re trying to achieve building code, build an energy efficient home, increase your current home’s energy efficiency or build to the passive house standard, we can provide advice and help work within your budget.
Q. Do uPVC windows require maintenance?
Minimal maintenance is required which also makes them a great option for rentals, or holiday homes.
Typically all uPVC windows require is a wipe down with a damp cloth.
Q. What is Regal Air?
Regal air is a double-stage wind pressure regulator which provides ventilation minimising moisture, they are a great option for holiday homes for peace of mind.
Q. Are uPVC windows energy efficient?
Yes, they provide excellent insulation, reducing energy costs
Q. What does the chamber system mean?
When looking at the cross-section of uPVC profiles, it is the number of “air pockets” created inside that improves the thermal insulation.
Q. Are there any limits to customisation?
uPVC has some size limitations and does not support bi-folds and triple sliders. However, if you would like these, we can use aluminium systems along with uPVC and match the colour.
Q. Why do your windows open inwards?
Opening inwards allow for the use of versetile tilt and turn mechanism. Tilting at thop gives better room ventilation and security.
